We are seeking an experienced Youth Justice Worker to join a dedicated Youth Justice Service based in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity to work with children and young people who are at risk of offending or reoffending, supporting them to achieve positive outcomes and build brighter futures.

Working within a multidisciplinary environment, you will play a key role in delivering interventions, supporting rehabilitation, and helping young people develop positive and pro-social pathways. You will work closely with families, partner agencies, and community organizations to reduce offending behavior and promote long-term positive change.

What You Will Do

Youth Justice Case Management: Manage and support young people involved in the youth justice system, ensuring effective intervention planning and delivery.

Court and Diversion Programmes: Deliver diversionary interventions and support programmes designed to prevent offending and reduce reoffending.

Assessment and Report Writing: Prepare high-quality assessments, pre-sentence reports, referral order reports, and other documentation in line with national standards.

Court and Referral Order Processes: Support young people through court proceedings, referral order panels, and community-based interventions.

Multi-Agency Working: Work collaboratively with partner agencies, community organizations, families to achieve positive outcomes.

Restorative Practice: Promote restorative approaches that support rehabilitation, accountability, and the needs of victims.

Custody and Community Support: Contribute to through-care, license supervision, bail support services, and community sentence delivery where appropriate.

Intervention Delivery: Develop and deliver creative, evidence-informed intervention programmes that support positive behavioral change.

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable groups within youth justice, youth offending, criminal justice, social care, education, or related services.
  • Strong understanding of youth justice principles and approaches.
  • Experience undertaking assessments, report writing, and case management.
  • Ability to engage effectively with young people and their families.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
  • Experience working collaboratively with partner agencies and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to restorative and child-centered practice.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities within a fast-paced environment.
