Type: Ongoing / Full Time
We are seeking an experienced Team Manager to join a well-established Kinship Assessment Team within a Fostering Service based in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled social work manager with experience in fostering, kinship care, or children in care services to lead a dedicated assessment team and support the delivery of high-quality outcomes for children and families.
Working within a supportive and collaborative environment, you will provide leadership, professional guidance, and management oversight to social workers and senior practitioners undertaking kinship assessments.

What You Will Do
Team Leadership: Provide effective leadership, management oversight, and professional supervision to social workers, senior practitioners, and support staff within the Kinship Assessment Team.
Quality Assurance: Ensure the delivery of high-quality kinship assessments that identify strengths, needs, and support requirements for prospective kinship carers.
Assessment Oversight: Monitor and review assessment work to ensure compliance with statutory requirements, policies, and best practice standards.
Practice Development: Support practitioners to maintain high standards of assessment, analysis, recording, and decision-making.
Performance Management: Promote effective service delivery through workload oversight, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement.
Multi-Agency Working: Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal teams, partner agencies, and stakeholders to achieve the best outcomes for children.
Service Contribution: Contribute to the ongoing development and effectiveness of the fostering service as part of the wider management team.
Outcome-Focused Practice: Support the identification of stable and nurturing family arrangements that enable children to thrive and achieve positive outcomes.
