Job Title: Social Worker – West Team

Type: Temporary / Full Time
We are seeking an experienced Social Worker to join the West Team based in Coventry. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled practitioner with frontline children’s social work experience, including child protection, assessments, court work and Public Law Outline (PLO). You will work within a supportive and collaborative team, delivering high-quality statutory services that safeguard children and support families to achieve positive outcomes.

What You Will Do
- Complete Child Protection enquiries and statutory Child and Family Assessments.
- Manage Children in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP) and Looked After Children (LAC) cases.
- Develop, implement and review Child in Need and Child Protection Plans.
- Support families through the Public Law Outline (PLO) process.
- Prepare high-quality court reports and initiate care proceedings where required.
- Deliver direct interventions and support to children, young people and their families.
- Undertake comprehensive risk assessments and implement effective safeguarding plans.
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes for children.
- Maintain accurate, timely and high-quality case recordings in line with statutory requirements.
- Participate in the team’s duty rota and contribute to the ongoing development of the service.
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
- Significant experience within Children’s Social Care.
- Experience completing Child Protection enquiries and Child and Family Assessments.
- Experience managing Children in Need, Child Protection and Looked After Children cases.
- Experience supporting families through the Public Law Outline (PLO) process and initiating court proceedings.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, statutory guidance and multi-agency working.
- Excellent assessment, communication and risk management skills.
- The DfE Cover Sheet must be fully completed and submitted with every CV.
