We are seeking an experienced Social Worker to join a well-established Safeguarding Team based in Somerset. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled practitioner with Child Protection experience to support children and families within the Sedgemoor locality, working as part of a collaborative Family Safeguarding Model.

Joining a supportive multidisciplinary team, you will work alongside social work colleagues and specialist adult workers to deliver high-quality, child-centered interventions that promote safety, stability, and positive outcomes for children and young people.

What You Will Do

Child Protection and Safeguarding: Undertake high-quality assessments of need and risk to ensure children and young people are protected from harm.

Relationship-Based Practice: Build effective and trusting relationships with children and families to understand their experiences and support positive change.

Assessment and Planning: Develop, implement, and review child-centered plans that reflect the child’s voice, needs, and best interests.

Evidence-Based Interventions: Deliver interventions informed by evidence-based practice, strengths-based approaches, and trauma-informed principles.

Case Management: Manage a caseload of children and families with varying levels of complexity, ensuring timely and effective interventions.

Court and Report Writing: Prepare assessments, reports, statements, and other documentation to support decision-making processes and statutory requirements.

Multi-Agency Working: Collaborate effectively with partner agencies, education providers, health professionals, and safeguarding partners to deliver coordinated support.

Statutory Responsibilities: Undertake statutory visits, reviews, and assessments in accordance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.

What We Are Looking For

  • Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
  • Experience working within Child Protection and Safeguarding services.
  • Strong assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience managing complex cases involving children and families.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, safeguarding procedures, and statutory frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, report-writing, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Commitment to delivering child-centered and strengths-based practice.
