Children’s Social Worker – Placement & Permanency Team (All Wales Pledge) – Vale of Glamorgan Council

Vale of Glamorgan Council is seeking a skilled and committed Social Worker to join their Placement & Permanency Team. This role focuses on supervising foster carers and completing key fostering assessments, ensuring safe and stable placements for children across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise foster carers, offering ongoing support and guidance to ensure high-quality care provision.
• Undertake Connected Person Assessments (CPA) and Form F assessments to inform placement decisions.
• Work collaboratively with foster carers, children, and multi-agency partners to achieve positive, permanent outcomes for children.
• Maintain accurate case recordings and contribute to court reports and permanency planning.
• Ensure fostering regulations and national minimum standards are met across all fostering work.

Essential Requirements:

• Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with Social Work England or Social Care Wales registration.
• Experience in fostering, placement services, or permanence planning.
• Strong assessment, relationship-building, and supervision skills.
• Sound understanding of fostering regulations and safeguarding principles.

Additional Information:

• Based at the Docks Office, Vale of Glamorgan.
• Full-time: 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 17:00).
• Inside IR35.
• Pay aligned to the All Wales Pledge.
