Job Title: Social Worker – Help and Protection Team

We are seeking an experienced Social Worker to join the Help and Protection Team based in Coventry. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled practitioner with strong safeguarding experience, statutory children’s social work knowledge, and the ability to work confidently with children and families. You will be part of a supportive and collaborative service, delivering high-quality interventions that safeguard children and promote positive outcomes.

What You Will Do

• Complete statutory assessments and interventions for children and families in accordance with relevant legislation and local procedures.
• Manage Child in Need (CIN) and Child Protection (CP) cases, ensuring children remain safe and achieve positive outcomes.
• Deliver direct support and interventions to children, young people and their families.
• Undertake comprehensive risk assessments and develop effective safeguarding plans.
• Work collaboratively with partner agencies to coordinate multi-agency support and safeguarding interventions.
• Provide instructions to Legal Services and prepare reports for court proceedings where required.
• Respond to safeguarding concerns and provide professional advice in complex situations.
• Maintain accurate, timely and high-quality case records using electronic case management systems.
• Participate in duty responsibilities, team meetings, supervision and ongoing professional development activities.

Essential Requirements

• Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
• Significant experience within Children’s Social Care.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, statutory guidance and child protection procedures.
• Experience undertaking complex assessments and risk management.
• Ability to prepare court reports and work effectively alongside Legal Services when required.
• Excellent communication, assessment and multi-agency working skills.
