Job Description
Job Title: Social Worker – Assessment Team
Specialism: Children’s Services
Location: Lincolnshire, UK
Salary: £29.98 Per Hour (Umbrella) / £22.20 Per Hour (PAYE)
Type: Temporary / Full Time (37 Hours) / Hybrid Working
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Social Worker to join a welcoming and supportive Assessment Team based in Lincolnshire. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a stable frontline team, supporting children and families from the point of referral through Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and Care Proceedings.
Working collaboratively with partner agencies, you will complete high-quality assessments, safeguard children, and deliver positive outcomes for children and families.
What you will do
- Complete Child and Family Assessments in accordance with statutory requirements.
- Manage a caseload of children and families across Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and Care Proceedings.
- Undertake enquiries and interventions to ensure children are safeguarded and their needs are met.
- Work closely with partner agencies, including Family Help, Family Group Decision Making, Health Services, and other professionals.
- Manage cases involving both private and public law proceedings.
- Participate in the team’s three-week duty rota, managing new referrals during duty weeks.
- Build positive working relationships with children, families, careers, and partner agencies.
- Maintain accurate case recordings, assessments, and statutory documentation.
- Promote high-quality safeguarding practice and positive outcomes for children and young people.
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
- Experience working within Children’s Social Care.
- Experience managing Child in Need (CIN) and Child Protection (CP) cases.
- Experience completing Child and Family Assessments.
- Knowledge of relevant children’s legislation, safeguarding procedures, and statutory guidance.
- Strong assessment, communication, and case management skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-agency environment.
