We are seeking an experienced Social Worker to join a newly established Assessment Team based in Somerset as part of the Families First Programme. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role within a developing service focused on delivering high-quality assessments and ensuring children and families receive the right support at the right time.

What You Will Do

Child and Family Assessments: Undertake comprehensive assessments to identify needs, strengths, risks, and appropriate support pathways.

Safeguarding Practice: Assess and manage risk to ensure children and young people are safeguarded and protected.

Relationship-Based Practice: Build effective relationships with children, young people, and families to understand their experiences and support positive outcomes.

Care Planning: Develop and review plans that reflect the needs, wishes, and best interests of children and families.

Multi-Agency Working: Work collaboratively with partner agencies and professionals to coordinate effective support and intervention.

Case Management: Manage a varied caseload while maintaining high standards of practice and statutory compliance.

Recording and Reporting: Produce clear, accurate, and timely assessments, records, and reports to support informed decision-making.

What We Are Looking For

• Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
• Experience working within Children’s Services.
• Strong assessment and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and statutory responsibilities relating to children and families.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Experience working effectively within a multi-agency environment.
• Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining high-quality practice.
