We are seeking an experienced Social Worker to join a dedicated Assessment & Intervention Team within Children’s Services in Wrexham. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled practitioner with experience in safeguarding, Section 47 enquiries, statutory assessments, and child protection work. What you will do

Manage an allocated caseload of children and families, ensuring all work is completed in accordance with statutory responsibilities, legislation, and best practice guidance.

Undertake Section 47 enquiries, safeguarding investigations, and comprehensive assessments to identify risks, strengths, needs, and appropriate support arrangements.

Develop and implement evidence-based care, support, and intervention plans that promote positive outcomes and safeguard children and young people.

Work directly with children, young people, families, and careers to assess needs, reduce risk, and support positive change.

Respond effectively to safeguarding concerns, crisis situations, and urgent referrals as part of a responsive assessment and intervention service.

Work collaboratively with education, health, police, and other partner agencies to deliver coordinated support and informed decision-making.

Prepare high-quality assessments, reports, care plans, and case recordings within required timescales.

Apply professional judgement and risk assessment skills to ensure children receive the right support at the right time.

Promote positive outcomes by ensuring plans are evidence-based, regularly reviewed, and adapted to meet changing needs.

Essential Requirements

Qualified Social Worker with current Social Care Wales registration or eligibility to register.

Previous experience within Children’s Services, including safeguarding and statutory social work.

Experience undertaking Section 47 enquiries and comprehensive child and family assessments.

Strong assessment, report writing, care planning, and risk management skills.

Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively within a fast-paced safeguarding environment.

Knowledge of relevant legislation, statutory guidance, and safeguarding procedures.

Understanding and acceptance of an Inside IR35 engagement.
