Job Description

Job Title: Social Worker – Adult Safeguarding Team

Type: Temporary / Full Time

We are seeking an experienced Social Worker to join a fast-paced Adult Safeguarding Hub based in Bromley. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled practitioner with extensive safeguarding experience to play a pivotal role in protecting adults at risk and delivering positive outcomes through effective risk management and decision-making.

Working within a front-door safeguarding service, you will be responsible for gathering information, assessing concerns, and making timely, proportionate, and defensible decisions in accordance with the Care Act 2014. You will work closely with partner agencies and apply the principles of Making Safeguarding Personal to ensure that the wishes, outcomes, and wellbeing of adults remain at the center of practice.

What You Will Do

Safeguarding Screening and Decision-Making: Receive, review, and assess safeguarding concerns, making timely and proportionate decisions regarding risk and appropriate interventions.

Section 42 Enquiries: Undertake and contribute to safeguarding enquiries in accordance with Section 42 of the Care Act 2014.

Risk Assessment and Management: Apply professional judgement to identify, assess, and manage risk effectively within a fast-paced environment.

Making Safeguarding Personal: Ensure that safeguarding practice remains person-centered, with the views, wishes, and desired outcomes of adults informing decision-making.

Multi-Agency Working: Work collaboratively with partner agencies to share information, coordinate responses, and promote positive safeguarding outcomes.

Case Recording and Documentation: Maintain accurate, clear, and defensible records, assessments, and reports in line with professional and statutory requirements.

Workload Management: Effectively priorities competing demands while maintaining high standards of practice and service delivery.

What We Are Looking For

  • Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
  • Significant experience of adult safeguarding practice within the framework of the Care Act 2014.
  • Proven experience undertaking or contributing to Section 42 safeguarding enquiries.
  • Strong understanding of Making Safeguarding Personal (MSP) principles.
  • Experience working within a Safeguarding Hub, MASH, or front-door service environment.
  • Excellent risk assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong multi-agency working experience.
  • Excellent recording, report-writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume workload within a fast-paced setting.
  • Resilient, organized, and confident in managing complex safeguarding situations.
