Job Title: Senior Social Worker – Family Safeguarding Team

Type: Ongoing / Full Time

We are seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join a dedicated Family Safeguarding Team based in Telford. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled practitioner with a minimum of 3 years’ post-qualified experience to manage complex cases, safeguard children, and support families through high-quality assessments and evidence-based interventions. Working within a collaborative multi-agency environment, you will play a key role in delivering positive outcomes for children and young people.

What You Will Do

  • Manage a diverse and complex caseload involving children and families.
  • Undertake statutory assessments, care planning, and child-focused interventions.
  • Assess and manage risk, making informed and evidence-based decisions.
  • Contribute to safeguarding processes and court proceedings where required.
  • Build positive working relationships with children, families, careers, and partner agencies.
  • Deliver preventative interventions to reduce risk and support families.
  • Prepare high-quality assessments, reports, and court documentation.
  • Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Contribute to service improvement through collaborative multi-agency working.

Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
  • Minimum 3 years’ post-qualified experience (PQE).
  • Experience working within Family Safeguarding or similar statutory Children’s Services teams.
  • Strong knowledge of children’s social care legislation, safeguarding procedures, and statutory frameworks.
  • Excellent assessment, report-writing, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage complex caseloads and build effective professional relationships.
