We are seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join the Care and Support Team within Children’s Services in Powys. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled practitioner to work with children, young people, and families, delivering high-quality assessments, interventions, and support to achieve positive outcomes.

What You Will Do

Case Management: Manage a complex caseload of children and families, ensuring assessments, plans, and interventions are completed to a high professional standard.

Assessment and Planning: Undertake comprehensive assessments of need and risk, developing and reviewing plans that promote positive outcomes and safeguard children.

Direct Work: Build effective relationships with children, young people, and families, ensuring their voices remain central to decision-making and service delivery.

Safeguarding Practice: Identify and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns, ensuring statutory responsibilities are fulfilled.

Multi-Agency Working: Work collaboratively with partner agencies and professionals to deliver coordinated and effective support.

Report Writing: Prepare clear, accurate, and timely assessments, reports, and records in accordance with legislative and organisational requirements.

Professional Leadership: Support best practice within the team through effective decision-making, professional judgement, and knowledge sharing.

Outcome-Focused Practice: Promote positive change and resilience within families while supporting children to achieve safe and stable outcomes.

Essential Requirements

Driving Requirement: Due to the geographical nature of the area, candidates must hold a valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
