Job Description
Job Title: Senior Safeguarding Practitioner – Adult Safeguarding Team

Type: Temporary / Full Time
We are seeking an experienced Senior Safeguarding Practitioner to join a dedicated Adult Safeguarding Team based in Shropshire. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled practitioner with extensive adult safeguarding experience, capable of managing complex cases, supporting colleagues, and working collaboratively with partner agencies to protect adults at risk. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality safeguarding services while contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of safeguarding practice.

What You Will Do
- Manage a complex caseload involving adults at risk of abuse or neglect.
- Respond to safeguarding concerns and enquiries received by the Local Authority.
- Undertake safeguarding enquiries, risk assessments and intervention planning in accordance with statutory responsibilities.
- Promote independence by supporting adults to maintain or develop their daily living skills within safe and appropriate environments.
- Assist, advise and provide line management support to Safeguarding Practitioners where required.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with care providers, health professionals and partner agencies to improve safeguarding standards.
- Deputise for the Team Manager on adult safeguarding matters in their absence.
- Contribute to the continuous development and improvement of adult safeguarding procedures and service delivery.
- Manage challenging situations confidently while maintaining professional decision-making and effective conflict resolution.
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
- Significant experience within Adult Safeguarding Services.
- Experience managing complex safeguarding cases involving adults at risk.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, risk assessment and multi-agency working.
- Ability to support, mentor and provide guidance to other practitioners.
- Enhanced Adult DBS required.
- DfE Form must be fully completed and submitted with every CV.
