Job Title: Senior Practitioner – Help and Protection Team

Type: Ongoing / Full Time

We are seeking an experienced Senior Practitioner to join the Help and Protection Team based in Coventry. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Qualified Social Worker with at least three years’ post-qualified experience to work within a supportive and collaborative Children’s Services team. You will manage a caseload of approximately 20 children and families, delivering high-quality safeguarding interventions and ensuring positive outcomes through relationship-based practice.

What You Will Do

  • Manage a caseload of approximately 20 children and families within the Help and Protection Team.
  • Complete statutory assessments, safeguarding interventions, and care planning.
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and partner agencies.
  • Develop and implement child-focused plans that promote safety, stability, and positive outcomes.
  • Prepare high-quality assessments, reports, and case recordings within statutory timescales.
  • Attend multi-agency meetings, child protection conferences, and court proceedings where required.
  • Promote best practice while supporting the delivery of high-quality Children’s Services.

Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
  • Ideally 3+ years’ post-qualified experience within Children’s Services.
  • Experience of working within Help and Protection or Safeguarding teams.
  • Strong assessment, care planning, and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-agency environment.
