Senior Practitioner – Family Safeguarding Team – Birmingham Children’s Trust
Join Birmingham Children’s Trust at an exciting time as we continue to build on our recent GOOD Ofsted rating! We are seeking an experienced Senior Practitioner to provide leadership and direct practice support to children and families across Birmingham. This role reports directly to the Team Manager and plays a key part in driving excellent social work practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality direct social work services as the allocated practitioner for children and families.
- Make critical decisions to ensure the safety and well-being of children and young people in line with statutory and practice standards.
- Provide reflective supervision and professional guidance to newly qualified social workers and other practitioners.
- Uphold Birmingham Children’s Trust’s practice standards and contribute to consistent service delivery.
- Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to achieve positive outcomes for families.
- Deputise for the Team Manager when required and lead practice improvement initiatives.
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with a minimum of 4 years’ post-qualified experience.
- Social Work England registration.
- Strong background in safeguarding, child protection, and/or looked after children services.
- Proven leadership and supervisory skills.
- Excellent decision-making and partnership-working abilities.
Additional Information:
- Full-time: 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 08:45 – 17:15).
- Location: One Avenue, Birmingham.
- Inside IR35.
