We are seeking an experienced Senior Practitioner to join a Children in Care Team based in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled social work professional to take a lead role in promoting high-quality practice, managing complex cases, and supporting the development of less experienced practitioners. Working within a dedicated Children in Care service, you will play a key role in achieving positive outcomes for children and young people while contributing to a collaborative and supportive team environment.

What You Will Do

Complex Case Management: Manage a varied and complex caseload involving children and young people in care, ensuring high standards of statutory social work practice.

Practice Leadership: Provide professional guidance, support, and technical expertise to less experienced social workers within the team.

Quality Assurance: Support the maintenance of high-quality practice through coaching, mentoring, and quality assurance activities.

Safeguarding and Care Planning: Ensure effective assessment, planning, intervention, and review processes are completed in line with legislative requirements and best practice.

Partnership Working: Develop and maintain effective working relationships with children, families, carers, partner agencies, and professionals to promote positive outcomes.

Performance and Reporting: Contribute to the collection, monitoring, and reporting of performance information in accordance with statutory and organisational requirements.

Representation and Advocacy: Represent the service at meetings, reviews, and multi-agency forums as required.
