Job Title: Qualified Social Worker – FAST Team

Type: Ongoing / Full Time

We are seeking an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join the Family Assessment and Support Team (FAST) based in Richmond, North Yorkshire. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled practitioner with at least 3 years’ post-qualified experience to manage a varied statutory caseload and deliver high-quality interventions that safeguard children and support families. You will work collaboratively with partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes through effective assessment, care planning, and relationship-based practice. The role involves managing Children in Need, Child Protection and Looked After Children cases, completing assessments, maintaining case records, and contributing to court proceedings where required.

  • Flexible working arrangements following the induction period, typically including 1 day working from home and a combination of office and family visits.

What You Will Do

  • Manage a statutory caseload of Children in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and Looked After Children (LAC).
  • Complete statutory assessments, care planning, and reviews within required timescales.
  • Undertake home visits and build positive relationships with children, families, and careers.
  • Prepare high-quality assessments, reports, and court documentation where required.
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies to safeguard children and promote positive outcomes.
  • Attend multi-agency meetings and contribute to effective care planning.
  • Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with statutory responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
  • Minimum 3 years’ post-qualified experience within Children’s Services.
  • Experience managing statutory children’s social work caseloads.
  • Strong assessment, safeguarding, and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to manage complex cases and work effectively within a multi-agency environment.
