We are seeking an experienced Social Worker to join a dedicated Children & Families Team in Luton. What you will do

Manage a caseload of children and families, undertaking statutory social work responsibilities in accordance with legislation, policy, and best practice guidance.

Complete clear, accurate, and holistic assessments of need and risk for children and families.

Lead and coordinate multi-agency interventions to safeguard children and promote positive outcomes.

Undertake Child in Need, Child Protection, and safeguarding work in accordance with statutory requirements.

Develop SMART plans that address identified needs and ensure timely progression of interventions.

Build positive and effective relationships with children, young people, and families, ensuring their voices, wishes, and feelings remain central to practice.

Undertake statutory visits, parenting assessments, risk assessments, and other required interventions.

Maintain high-quality case recordings, assessments, reports, and documentation within required timescales.

Prepare professional reports and statements for meetings, conferences, and court proceedings where required.

Work collaboratively with partner agencies to ensure children and families receive coordinated and effective support.

Essential Requirements

Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.

Previous experience within Children’s Services, including safeguarding and statutory social work.

Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989 and associated statutory guidance.

Experience completing assessments, care planning, and multi-agency interventions.

Strong communication, report writing, assessment, and risk management skills.

Ability to manage complex caseloads and work effectively within a fast-paced environment.
