Type: Ongoing / Full Time
We are currently seeking an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join a well-established Assessment & Safeguarding Team based in Hampshire. This is an excellent locum opportunity for a dedicated practitioner who is passionate about safeguarding children and supporting families to achieve positive outcomes.
You will work within a supportive multidisciplinary team consisting of Qualified Social Workers, Assistant Team Managers, Team Managers, and Children & Families Support Workers. The service offers strong management support, regular supervision, and access to ongoing professional development opportunities.
This role is ideal for an experienced social worker who is confident in managing complex cases, undertaking statutory assessments, and working collaboratively with partner agencies to safeguard children and promote their welfare.

What You Will Do
- Undertake comprehensive assessments of children and families, identifying risks, needs, and appropriate interventions within statutory and legislative frameworks.
- Manage a varied caseload in accordance with departmental procedures, statutory responsibilities, and professional standards.
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies to complete joint assessments and ensure coordinated support for children and families.
- Arrange, commission, and review appropriate services and care plans that promote positive outcomes and reflect best value principles.
- Take appropriate safeguarding action to protect vulnerable children in accordance with relevant legislation and statutory guidance.
- Monitor, review, and reassess care plans and interventions to ensure they continue to meet identified needs and achieve desired outcomes.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and professional case records using electronic recording systems.
- Prepare high-quality reports that support assessments, decision-making, case management, and court proceedings where required.
- Provide information and guidance to children, families, and careers regarding available services, financial support, and community resources.
What We’re Looking For
- Degree in Social Work or an equivalent recognized qualification.
- Current registration with Social Work England.
- Previous experience working within Children’s Social Care.
- Sound knowledge of safeguarding legislation, child protection procedures, and statutory responsibilities.
- Ability to undertake comprehensive risk assessments and make informed professional decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing professional reports.
- Strong partnership working skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multi-agency teams.
- Good organizational and time management skills with the ability to priorities competing demands.
- Understanding of equality, diversity, confidentiality, and data protection legislation.
- Ability to meet the travel requirements of the role.
