We are seeking an experienced Personal Advisor to join the Young Adult Service based in Haringey. This is an excellent opportunity to support care leavers as they transition into adulthood, helping them achieve positive outcomes across education, employment, accommodation, health, and independent living. Working within a dedicated and supportive team, you will build strong relationships with young people and partner agencies to deliver high-quality, person-centred support.

What You Will Do

  • Manage a caseload of care leavers, providing practical and emotional support throughout their transition to adulthood.
  • Develop, review, and implement high-quality Pathway Plans to meet individual needs and aspirations.
  • Support young people to access and sustain suitable accommodation, education, employment, and training opportunities.
  • Work closely with families, carers, statutory services, and voluntary organisations to deliver coordinated support.
  • Assist young people in accessing welfare benefits, health services, and other appropriate support networks.
  • Support young people with additional needs, including mental health, learning disabilities, immigration matters, and parenting responsibilities.
  • Maintain accurate and timely case records in accordance with organisational policies and statutory requirements.
  • Undertake duty responsibilities on a rota basis, responding appropriately to emergencies and urgent situations.
  • Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, and the welfare of all young people.
  • Participate in supervision, team meetings, and continuous professional development activities.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience working with care leavers or vulnerable young people within a statutory or voluntary setting.
  • Good understanding of legislation and guidance relating to Children (Leaving Care).
  • Knowledge of the challenges facing young people transitioning to independent living.
  • Experience developing support plans and working collaboratively with partner agencies.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload and prioritise competing demands effectively.
  • Commitment to delivering person-centred support and promoting positive outcomes for young people.
  • Ability to travel and work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.
