We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Support Worker to join the Interventions Hub based in Cardiff. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a service focused on early intervention and prevention, helping children, young people, and families access the right support at the right time.

As part of the Interventions Hub, you will work closely with families to strengthen parenting capacity, promote children’s health and development, and help prevent family breakdown. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a positive impact by supporting families to achieve sustainable outcomes while working within a collaborative and supportive team environment.

The role is full-time with a hybrid working arrangement, requiring 2–3 days per week in the office.

What You Will Do

• Provide practical and targeted support to children, young people, and their families through early intervention services.
• Work directly with families to strengthen parenting capacity and promote children’s health, safety, and development.
• Deliver support programmes that help prevent family breakdown and reduce the need for statutory intervention.
• Build positive and professional relationships with children, families, and partner agencies.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals to ensure coordinated support and effective outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and timely records in accordance with organizational procedures.
• Manage your workload effectively while responding flexibly to the needs of families.
• Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, and the wellbeing of children and families in all aspects of your work.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience working with children, young people, and families.
• A commitment to supporting families and improving outcomes for children.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Well-organized with good time management and the ability to priorities workloads.
• Flexible approach to meeting service needs.
• Good understanding of safeguarding principles and child development.
• Full UK driving license and access to your own vehicle.
