Job Title: Advanced Practitioner – South Help and Protection Team

Type: Full Time / Temporary
We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practitioner to join the South Help and Protection Team in Coventry. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled practitioner with experience managing complex safeguarding cases and working across Child in Need, Child Protection and care proceedings.
The role involves holding a caseload of complex and high-risk cases, undertaking direct work with children, young people and families, and providing practice leadership within a multi-agency safeguarding environment.

What You Will Do
Complex Case Management: Hold and manage a caseload of complex Child in Need, Child Protection and care proceedings cases.
Child Protection: Undertake Child Protection Enquiries and contribute to effective Child Protection Planning to safeguard children and reduce risk.
Child in Need Planning: Develop and review Child in Need plans, ensuring appropriate interventions are delivered to meet children’s needs.
Pre-Proceedings and PLO Work: Undertake pre-proceedings and Public Law Outline work where required.
Court and Care Proceedings: Contribute to court work and care proceedings, ensuring appropriate planning and decision-making.
Direct Work: Undertake direct work with children, young people and families to assess needs, reduce risk and achieve positive outcomes.
Complex Safeguarding: Lead on complex safeguarding interventions and decision-making, ensuring timely and effective responses.
Practice Leadership: Provide practice leadership, complex case oversight and contribute to the development of high-quality social work practice.
Multi-Agency Working: Work collaboratively with partner agencies and professionals to support effective safeguarding and coordinated interventions.
Requirements
- Experience managing complex and high-risk cases within children’s services.
- Experience of Child in Need and Child Protection work.
- Experience of care proceedings, court work and PLO/pre-proceedings.
- Ability to undertake complex safeguarding interventions and decision-making.
- Ability to undertake direct work with children, young people and families.
- Ability to work within a hybrid working arrangement.
- During the designated Duty Week, 5 days per week office attendance is required.
- No travel allowance is payable.
- The DFE cover sheet must be completed.
