Job Description
Job Title: Advanced Practitioner – Family Drug and Alcohol Court (FDAC) Team

Salary: £39.06 Per Hour (Limited/Umbrella) / £29.20 Per Hour (PAYE)
Type: Temporary / Full Time
We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practitioner to join an innovative Family Drug and Alcohol Court (FDAC) Team in Liverpool. This temporary opportunity is suited to an experienced Children’s Social Worker with a minimum of three years’ permanent statutory Social Work experience.
The successful candidate will have strong experience in Child Protection and Safeguarding, with an understanding of the FDAC operating model. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will support families experiencing substance misuse and related challenges, while contributing to effective interventions and positive outcomes for children.
What you will do
The role requires three days per week in the office/in Liverpool and two days working remotely.
Safeguarding Practice: Apply a robust understanding of Children’s Safeguarding legislation, statutory guidance and processes.
Family Support: Work directly with parents, undertaking drug and alcohol screening, multi-disciplinary assessments and intervention planning alongside the specialist team.
Court Work: Regularly attend FDAC court hearings and liaise effectively with judges and other professionals involved in the court process.
Complex Family Work: Work with families experiencing complex circumstances, including substance misuse and domestic abuse, using a relationship-based approach.
Multi-Agency Working: Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with partner agencies, including mental health, drug services and domestic abuse services.
Communication and Teamwork: Demonstrate excellent communication and team-working skills while contributing to the development of team policies and practice.
What you will need
- A professional Social Work qualification.
- A minimum of three years’ permanent statutory Social Work experience.
- Strong experience in Child Protection and Safeguarding.
- A good understanding of the FDAC operating model.
- Experience working across relevant disciplines, including mental health, drug services and domestic abuse.
- Excellent communication and team-working skills.
- Experience of complex family circumstances, including addiction and domestic abuse.
- A full driving license and access to a vehicle.
