We are seeking an experienced Adult Social Worker to join the Adults and Communities Team based in Barnet. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated practitioner with experience supporting adults and careers under the Care Act 2014. Working within a strengths-based and person-centred framework, you will manage a varied caseload, complete high-quality assessments, and promote independence while safeguarding vulnerable adults and delivering positive outcomes.

What You Will Do

  • Manage a diverse caseload of adults and careers in accordance with the Care Act 2014 and statutory guidance.
  • Complete strengths-based assessments, care and support planning, and regular reviews.
  • Undertake safeguarding enquiries and risk assessments to protect adults at risk.
  • Complete Mental Capacity Act assessments and apply best practice in decision-making.
  • Promote independence through personalized care planning and outcome-focused interventions.
  • Work collaboratively with health services, community organizations, and partner agencies to coordinate support.
  • Support individuals to access direct payments, community resources, equipment, and appropriate services.
  • Chair and participate in multi-agency meetings, reviews, and case conferences.
  • Maintain accurate case records, assessments, and reports in line with statutory requirements.
  • Contribute to service improvement, professional development, and the promotion of best practice across the team.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree in Social Work or equivalent recognised qualification.
  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Minimum four years’ post-qualification experience within Adult Social Care.
  • Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, safeguarding legislation, and relevant statutory guidance.
  • Experience undertaking complex assessments, care planning, safeguarding enquiries, and risk management.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, assessment, and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to promoting independence, wellbeing, and person-centered practice.
