Job Title: Team Manager – Transition Team

Salary: £44.00 Per Hour
Type: Temporary / Full Time

We are seeking an experienced Team Manager to join Children’s Services in Dudley during a period of service improvement and transformation.

The service is investing in Children’s Services and developing additional teams to support the Families First Programme and wider national reforms. You will provide strong leadership and management while supporting positive outcomes for children, young people and families.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the delivery of Children’s Services in line with legislation, policies, procedures and statutory requirements.
  • Manage workloads, assessments, care plans and reviews, ensuring statutory timescales and performance standards are met.
  • Make complex decisions relating to children, young people and families.
  • Provide supervision, consultation, reflective practice and professional guidance to social work staff.
  • Support recruitment, induction and performance management, while motivating staff and promoting effective practice.
  • Monitor casework quality, workload, performance and service delivery, including regular case audits.
  • Work effectively with partner agencies and voluntary sector organisations to support multi-agency planning and intervention.
  • Contribute to service planning, working groups, Child Protection Conferences and service development.
  • Manage delegated budgets and ensure resources are used effectively and in line with financial regulations.
  • Use management information systems and service data to support performance, planning and decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports and promote equality, diversity and anti-discriminatory practice.
  • Ensure children, young people, parents and carers are involved in planning and reviewing services.

Requirements

  • Significant experience of providing and managing social care services for children and families.
  • Experience of supervision, consultation, service development, performance monitoring and partnership working.
  • Experience of working through organisational and cultural change within complex services.
  • Registered, or eligible for registration, with the HCPC as a qualified Social Worker.
  • Management or supervisory training, or willingness to undertake relevant training.
  • Evidence of continued professional and management development.
  • Strong leadership, communication, decision-making and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to plan workloads, set targets, manage resources and analyse financial and service activity data.
  • Commitment to anti-oppressive and anti-discriminatory practice.
  • IT literacy appropriate to the role.
  • Full driving licence, access to a vehicle and ability to drive for work purposes.
  • Business-use car insurance and a valid MOT are required for vehicles over three years old.
  • Subject to DBS and DVLA checks.
  • Initial three-month assignment.
