Job Title: Advanced Practitioner – West Case Holding Team

Salary: £33.30 Per Hour Umbrella
Type: Full Time / Temporary

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practitioner to join the West Case Holding Team within Children’s Services in Coventry. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled children’s social work professional with experience supporting Children in Need, children subject to Child Protection Plans, children accommodated under Section 20, care proceedings and pre-proceedings work.

The role involves case holding responsibilities and working directly with children and families to support effective planning, safeguarding and positive outcomes.

Hybrid Working

The role operates on a hybrid basis, with office attendance required for a minimum of 3 days per week during non-duty weeks. During the designated duty week, office attendance is required every day.

What You Will Do

Case Holding: Hold and manage cases within the West Social Worker Case Holding Team, ensuring effective planning and appropriate interventions.

Children in Need: Work with children and families where Children in Need support is required, ensuring needs are assessed and appropriately addressed.

Child Protection: Support children subject to Child Protection Plans and undertake appropriate safeguarding work.

Section 20 Accommodation: Work with children who are accommodated under Section 20, supporting appropriate care planning and outcomes.

Care Proceedings: Initiate care proceedings where required and contribute to effective legal planning.

Pre-Proceedings: Work with families involved in pre-proceedings, supporting appropriate interventions and planning.

Direct Family Work: Work directly with children and families to understand their needs, manage risk and support positive outcomes.

Requirements

  • Experience working within Children’s Services.
  • Experience of case holding within a children’s social work setting.
  • Experience working with Children in Need and children subject to Child Protection Plans.
  • Experience working with children accommodated under Section 20.
  • Experience of care proceedings and pre-proceedings.
  • Ability to work a minimum of 3 days per week in the office during non-duty weeks.
  • Ability to attend the office every day during the designated duty week.
  • The required DFE cover sheet must be completed.
  • No travel allowance is payable.
