Job Description
Job Title: Qualified Social Worker – Family Support & Protection Team North
Specialism: Children’s Services
Location: Monmouthshire, UK
Salary: £29.24 PAYE / £39.32 Limited or Umbrella Per Hour
Type: Temporary / Full Time
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Social Worker to join the Family Support & Protection Team North on a short-term contract. This is a focused Child Protection role offering a small caseload and the opportunity to work closely with children and families from the Initial Child Protection Conference (ICPC) stage onwards.
The role is designed to support the current needs of the service and would suit Social Workers looking to return to Child Protection or Court work, rebuild confidence within a supportive environment, or take on a focused role with manageable workloads.

Hybrid Working: The role offers a combination of office and home working, with the work pattern including two to three days in the office and two to three days working from home.
What you will do
Child Protection: Manage a small caseload of Child Protection cases and support children and families through the first three months of registration.
Child Protection Plans: Progress Child Protection Plans through effective assessment, planning and intervention.
Social Work Duty: Undertake Social Work Duty responsibilities a minimum of twice per week.
Family Support: Work directly with children and families, building effective relationships and supporting positive outcomes.
Case Responsibility: Balance case responsibility with duty commitments while maintaining effective planning and purposeful intervention.
What we are looking for
Qualified Social Worker: You must be a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Care Wales or Social Work England.
Children and Families Experience: Experience of working with children and families is required.
Child Protection Knowledge: A strong understanding of Child Protection processes and statutory responsibilities.
Assessment and Planning: Strong assessment, planning and relationship-based practice skills.
Purposeful Intervention: Commitment to achieving positive outcomes for children through effective intervention and planning.
