Social Worker – Children’s Services – Newport City Council
£38.30 per hour | 37 hours per week | Hybrid Working

Newport City Council is seeking an inspirational and dynamic Social Worker to join our Children’s Services team. You will have the opportunity to make a real impact by improving outcomes for children and families, helping them to achieve positive and lasting change.

About the role:
You will be working within a supportive and progressive service focused on person-centred and strengths-based approaches, enabling families to safely stay together and thrive. Your role will include assessment, planning, intervention, and review to support families and ensure child safety and wellbeing.

Key Requirements:

• Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Care Wales
• Experience of working in statutory children’s services
• Ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively with families and multi-agency partners
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child development, and relevant legislation

Location: Newport City Council, Newport, Wales
Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Rate: £38.30 per hour (Inside IR35)
Working Pattern: Hybrid working (Fridays WFH or alternative locations)
