Job Description

Senior Social Worker – Safe Space MASH Team – Lewisham Council

Are you an experienced Qualified Social Worker looking to make an impact within a dynamic safeguarding environment? Lewisham Council is seeking a skilled Senior Social Worker to join their Safe Space MASH (Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub) Team. Based at Laurence House, Catford, this is an excellent opportunity to safeguard vulnerable children and families within a supportive and forward-thinking local authority.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage complex safeguarding cases and contribute to robust decision-making processes within the MASH framework.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and multi-agency information sharing to ensure child safety.
  • Deliver high-quality written reports and recommendations for statutory meetings.
  • Mentor and support junior staff within the Safe Space Team.
  • Collaborate effectively with partner agencies to deliver integrated safeguarding responses.

Essential Requirements:

  • 5+ years post-qualified experience as a Qualified Social Worker (QSW).
  • Demonstrated experience within a MASH or safeguarding service.
  • Enhanced DBS with Barred List clearance required.
  • Strong knowledge of child protection legislation and multi-agency safeguarding protocols.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and analytical skills.

Additional Information:

  • Hybrid working model: minimum 2-3 days per week office/community-based at Laurence House.
  • Laurence House is located 3 minutes from Catford and Catford Bridge stations (just 2 stops from London Bridge) and approx. 30 minutes from the M25.
  • Accessible via public transport, with subsidised parking available (daily rate applies)
